About WSPE: The Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) is the only society in Wisconsin which represents all branches of engineering. We are the only active, established organization devoting its entire effort to the professional, ethical, economic, political and social aspects of engineering. When you join NSPE and WSPE, and participate at the local "grass roots" level, you join forces with more than 65,000 fellow engineers across the country who have broadened their professional horizons from the narrow day-to-day confines of making a living to the wider and more rewarding concepts of the profession to which you belong. Membership in WSPE provides:
For over fifty-five years, the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) has been a leading voice for Professional Engineers throughout Wisconsin Promoting excellence in engineering. As a state society of the National Society of Professional Engineers, WSPE offers three key benefits to our members: Advocacy, Education and Networking. Throughout the history of WSPE, our members have made outstanding contributions to both the engineering profession and their communities. WSPE provides excellent opportunities for remaining active and engaged within the engineering community, both in Wisconsin and on a national level. WSPE monitors and speaks out on key state legislative and regulatory issues which impact the engineering profession as well as the welfare and safety of the public. WSPE has also sponsored an annual competition among Wisconsin manufacturers to showcase their skills through new product development. WSPE has sponsored the Governer's New Product Award for over 31 years. Winners then compete nationally through the National Society of Professional Engineers. WSPE also promotes continual education among their members. One of the benefits of membership is receipt of WSPE's monthy electronic newsletter. The monthly E-news offers a quick glance at ideas and information, engineering news articles, chapter information and WSPE program updates. Other education efforts, such as National Engineers Week, MATHCOUNTS, Board of Engineering Professional Responsibility (BEPR), fundraising, Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin (EFW) and other scholarships, and other chapter activities make a positive impact on our future. During the year, our members have chances to renew friendships and celebrate their many accomplishments through our many networking opportunities. The Wisconsin Society operates within the state as an affiliate of the National Society, and is divided geographically along county lines into eight chapter regions. These chapters actively pursue the objectives of the society at the city, county and local district levels. Chapters generally meet once a month to discuss a wide range of engineering issues.
