2008 Engineer of the Year Awards
Engineer of the Year - Chad R. O’Donnell, P.E., S.E.
Chad is a senior structural engineer for HGA Architects and Engineers
in Milwaukee. He is a registered PE, has more than 14 years of structural
engineering experience, and has designed numerous projects of varied size
and scope. His areas of expertise include structural steel design and
the design of health care facilities. He received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Marquette University
and was active in the student chapter of the American Society of Civil
Engineers while there, serving as chairman of the concrete canoe team.
Chad has been an active member of the Wisconsin Society of Professional
Engineers since 2004 and served 3 years as the President of the Greater
Milwaukee Chapter. He is currently Chapter Director and Education Chair
of the Metro Chapter of WSPE, a Vice President of the State Society and
was honored to be the recipient of the 2008 Metro Chapter Engineer of
the Year award. Chad is also very active in the Southeast Wisconsin Branch
of the American Society of Civil Engineers, currently serving as President-Elect
and scheduled to assume the position of President in the fall of 2008.
Young Engineer of the Year - Alex Damien, P.E.
Alex has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin
Platteville and has spent his career in the Engineering Department for
the City of Waukesha as a Project Engineer. He’s been a NSPE/WSPE
member for five years and has been active in the Metro Chapter holding
such offices as Vice President, and Secretary. Just this year Alex was
honored by his chapter as the recipient of their Young Engineer of the
Year award.
Outstanding Engineer in Private Practice - Andrew B. Graham,
P.E., P.G.
Andy has a BS in Geology, BS in Civil Engineering, MS in Civil Engineering
and an MBA from the University of Connecticut and is licensed as a professional
engineer and geologist. Andy is a project manager at RMT, Inc. in Madison,
and works on the design and construction of utility-scale wind projects.
Andy has been a NSPE/WSPE member for six years and has been active in
the Southwest Chapter, serving as the chapter secretary and newsletter
editor. Just this year, Andy was honored by his chapter as the Engineer
of the Year. Andy is also an active member in the American Institute of
Professional Geologists and the Lions Club.
Outstanding Engineer in Industry - Todd M. Kinney, P.E.
Todd has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UW – Madison. Currently
Todd is the Engineering Support Leader at PCMC in Green Bay. In his 21+
years with (PCMC/Hayssen), he has held engineering roles from programming,
leading projects, to engineering management. As a 17-year member of NSPE/WSPE,
Todd has been involved with MATHCOUNTS for 16 years. He has been the Fox
River Valley Chapter coordinator for 15 years and a volunteer at the State
competition many years. Todd has also served on Discovery Conference committees
and was honored by his Chapter as Young Engineer of the Year in 1994 and
Engineer of the Year in 1998.
