WSPE eNews
A monthly publication from the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers
April 1, 2006 Edition
| 1. |
WSPE's President Corner |
| Welcome to our third issue of E-News!
First of all, I would like to announce that the first couple
of issues of the WSPE E-News have been a tremendous success.
Comments that the State Board has received are overwhelmingly
positive. We look for your continued feedback as we further
strive to enhance the content and value of our membership
newsletter.
April's issue of WSPE E-News covers several important topics
including updates to the Discovery Conference & GNPA Banquet
and the WSPE officer elections. If you have not done so already,
please take a moment to review the conference agenda and register
for the conference. This year’s program focuses on Manufacturing
in Wisconsin and offers several exciting seminars and training
opportunities to suit everyone. Also in
this issue you will find a link to the 2006-07 WSPE officer
election ballot. Please note that we are in need of a third
Vice President; so if you are interested in getting involved
on the State Board please let me or another board member know.
Write in nominations are encouraged.
Next, I would like to thank Lauran Larson, Norm Arendt and
Phil O’Leary and the numerous other volunteers for their efforts
that contributed to the success of the State MATHCOUNTS competition.
The final results are posted on the state website along with
description of the State Team that will be representing Wisconsin
at the national competition in Arlington, VA. If you have
not witnessed the excitement of this program, I encourage
you to watch for the highlights of the national competition
that will be re-broadcasted on ESPN2 next month. MATHCOUNTS
can always use more volunteers at both the chapter and state
levels.
Finally, if you are interested in being a sponsor for the
2006 WSPE Directory or E-News or have news that you would
like to include in an upcoming issue, please contact our publisher
Denise Rockhill.
Denise may also be reached at 414-908-4950 ext. 109.
Regards,
Dale Chlebowski
WSPE President

2006 WSPE Leadership Conference – June 24th
in Wisconsin Dells |
| Attention all current and incoming Chapter
and State Officers and Committee Members: The 2006 WSPE Leadership
Conference will be held June 24th in Wisconsin Dells. We will
accomplish two primary tasks at this meeting: we will bring
those of you assuming new positions up to speed and we will
set our goals to move forward in the next year. To do this
requires current outgoing leaders to attend to transfer your
know-how and experience to those taking over your previous
position. This makes your efforts over the last year(s) even
more meaningful by having them continued and advanced rather
than being lost and forgotten. And for those assuming new
positions or continuing on, this is your opportunity to learn
exactly what your roles, responsibilities and goals are for
upcoming year. This will make your time and effort productive
and meaningful, making a valuable contribution that moves
your organization and profession forward rather than wasting
time repeating what someone already did, or becoming stressed
from not knowing what to do and getting behind. Having a clear
picture of what we want to accomplish, and what each of us
is going to do towards those goals will make the year enjoyable
and exciting. Please plan on attending June 24th. Anyone else
interested in becoming involved is also welcome to attend.
